There are many of these old cabs for sale. The best are the old FX4 and newer LT1 s are the best. The new TX1 s etc... are okay but don't feel the same.

Post 89 taxis (Fariways) had Nissan TD27 diesel engines. Earlier ones FX4s had Rover engines.

The FX4 was sold in the US for a few years in the mid '80s by an importer called London Coach Company, they shipped them over as rolling chassis and fitted US-legal drivetrains and marketed them primarily as a limousine or Town Car alternative for executives.

We also got the TXII for awhile in the '00s from London Taxis of North America, which by the end was an LTI subsidiary, so there's some of those around too.
